I graduated from Montezuma High School. I then attended Barclay College and received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (K-9) with an emphasis in Social Sciences. I later attended Emporia State University and received my Master's in Adaptive Education.

I am in my third year of teaching Kansas History and Geography for Iola Middle School. I have enjoyed all the different experiences and my students have been great throughout all! Teaching is a lot of fun!
Prior to working in this district, I taught through the South Central Special Education Cooperative for the last 11 years or so. I was placed at the South Central Middle School where I taught in the resource room working with 5th through 8th grades. I taught students with various disabilities and had a fabulous time. In addition to this I taught a general education Social Studies class for the last two years. Before this, I taught Social Studies for about 10 years or so levels 5th-7th.
I am married and have been married for 21 years. We married in 1993. We have 3 biological children, 1 we adopted and I have one grandon currently. My son, Joel, is married and lives in Wichita. My oldest daughter graduated with her master’s and is working at the college as an adjunct professor and staff member. My adopted daughter is living and working in Hutchinson. My youngest daughter is graduating from college this spring.
First off, I am a committed Christian so I spend a lot of time working with my church family. Also, I have a lot of hobbies. I love reading and crafting. I especially enjoying sewing and quilting. I love music and am deeply involved in my church.
